It turns out that I have a Sagittarius butt. And as a matter of fact, so do YOU! Well… sort of.
In Medical Astrology, each sign ‘rules’ a different part of the body. Sagittarius (as you can see in the photo) rules the rumpus and the thighs. Now, if you have a planet in Sagittarius -particularly a ‘luminary’ (the sun or the moon)- this area of the body may be ‘highlighted’ for you, as it is for me… And my sister, as it turns out: we both have the same butt! That’s genes you say? Well, yes, certainly… AND it’s Sagittarius (my moon, her sun)! Our other sister has a similar butt, as a matter of fact (genes?!) and she doesn’t have a luminary in Sagittarius (I knew it! Genes!!). However… She DOES have Venus in Sagittarius!! (Haha! Astrology!)
Anyway, enough about butts…
Each element (earth, water, fire, air) has it’s own quality and governs it’s own bits and processes in the body. Example: earth signs rule structure (bones) while water signs rule fluids - makes sense, right? I’ve just completed a class on Medical Astrology* in which we were all observing our bodies and remarking how some people have “juicy” Scorpio butts (water sign!) and some people have “fluffy” Libra tummies (air sign!). Some folks are solid (earth signs) and some lanky or “wispy” (air signs!). Some people seem to have “absorbent” auras (water signs!), while some seem to “run hot”, have high metabolisms, and just can’t sit still (fire signs!). Sound familiar? I bet you can come up with one or two people who fit each description, and I wouldn’t be surprised AT ALL if you came to find out that they do indeed have some energy in the element or sign indicated by their vessel! It is truly amazing how much the chart placements present in the physical manifestation of one’s body and even how the transits affect/reflect** changes that occur in or to a body, such as injuries, chronic issues, random flare-ups, etc.
For example, in my next post I will address a specific transit that is happening this year: Saturn in Sagittarius. If Saturn is cold, dry, constricting, & hard and it is in the sign that rules the rump and thighs area- how might this manifest?
I’ll let you mull that over for the time being… I’ll write more real soon! In the meantime, get your hands on your chart and see if you can piece together how your lights show up in your body!***
*The class I just finished was offered at Portland School of Astrology by Andrea Gehrz and Casey Cardoso. It was great! They are developing cutting edge methodologies for helping remediate symptoms using the wisdom of Medical Astrology combined with Modern Medicine and physiology. Brilliant work.
