Recently, I had the pleasure of attending an alumni reunion for the oh-so-special program at Naropa University in Boulder, called: Master of Arts in Contemplative Education. My class was only the third intimate cohort to go through the program and we graduated 10 years ago! A few of my cohorts initiated and created a beautiful “UnConference” for us, which was executed using “Open Space Technology”, which, given that we had all been through the mindfulness training of our program, worked out well for us!
Now, I had noticed that Jupiter [in Leo] would be conjunct my natal Saturn [in Leo] during the reunion - they lined up exactly! I kept wondering what it meant and how it would play out. The basic meaning I had anticipated was something like this:
Now, I had noticed that Jupiter [in Leo] would be conjunct my natal Saturn [in Leo] during the reunion - they lined up exactly! I kept wondering what it meant and how it would play out. The basic meaning I had anticipated was something like this:
“Jupiter transits to Saturn test the balance between your desire to grow and to expand, and your awareness of your personal limitations. You become more aware of opportunities, and your desire is to grow, but at the same time you are reminded that there are limitations to what you can do.” ~http://www.cafeastrology.com/jupitertransits.html
I also considered how Jupiter can mean expansion, generosity, good luck and that it relates to education, philosophy, and publication. While Saturn relates to work, limits, structure, success. I kept wondering how they would play out together; how Jupiter would affect my Saturn. It wasn’t until it was all over and I was back home that I realized that the whole darn thing had been an expression of these energies at play.
First of all, there is the way that I got to the conference: generosity of others (transiting Jupiter) overcoming the limitations of what I can do (natal Saturn). That is to say: my travel expenses were paid for by a generous family member.
Secondly, the [un]conference, itself, is a very Jupiter thing: all about education and philosophy!
Thirdly, I was able to showcase my talents and my work (Saturn) by facilitating SoulCollage® and by sharing the beginnings of the Buddhist Wisdom Energy tarot deck I am designing. Both of these practices pertain especially to the Leo aspect of this transit: self-expression, creativity. In both cases, I experienced limitations of time (Saturn!); I had hoped to spend more time discussing and facilitating SoulCollage® more formally and had also hoped to have more sample cards to share. So, I definitely experienced expanding; yet with real limitations! (Jupiter transiting Saturn!)
And, there you have it. My highlight experience of Jupiter in Leo- made all the more clear due to the transit to my natal planet. While you may or may not have such a transit, I’d still love to hear what you can relate to in terms of expansion (Jupiter) in creativity and self-expression (Leo)! Please share anything that comes up for you!
Jupiter will be in Leo (conjunct Venus in retrograde, too!) for the next week or so, until it enters Virgo on the 12th of August. It’s the last hurrah for publishing creative work, generosity to the arts, travel to hot places (!), self-expansion through creativity, etc. I mention these ideas as Jupiter in Leo themes. Not that these can’t still be done at other times, of course! The next week may just be a prime time! Especially with the conjunction to Venus in retrograde who is all about beauty and pleasure and the retrograde pointing to internal processes. Maybe it’s time to try SoulCollage®! I have a fun group going right now for one more week that you can join if you’d like to give it a try. Just sign up here. It's free (& fun!)!
Enjoy the last hurrah!
